They sold no balls of any kind. No models either at that time. Lots of "action" figures and Barbies. I would have to say that Ms. Simpson is probably not the problem with the video. She most likely can sing... just not that song (not that anybody can or should. I'm curious as to how such a boring melody and with tepid lyrics ever came to be recorded). The creative process seemed to have stopped with "she'll be in a white dress in an old theatre". Maybe it went as far as "I know, she'll spin in circles for a while then she'll sing to herself in a mirror." Whoopee. I always suspected that the people at Kay-Bee didn't have any balls, thanks for confirming that. However, that evil empire WalMart does sell them. I know because I bought several of various sizes a couple months ago to use in some props we were building. But after our previous discussions here everyone knows that WalMart has a lot of balls. So the big question is, did you finally get some balls? > No models either at that time. A little over a year ago I was doing a strange project where I wanted pieces of model cars. You can give a polyline not only two dimensions, but three, which is useful in 3d drawing. In this manner you can represent each piece of lumber (or steel) as a dimensional object. I think the same can be said for concert lighting design. You can buy it in rolls from any hardware store. It is usually about 8" or 12" wide and can be cut to the width of a gobo holder. That way you can just make your pattern on a rectangular blank and not need a gobo holder. Good when you need a lot of gobos and don't have enough holders for all your fixtures. Susan M. I worked with them here in Minneapolis when the NT's production of Hamlet came to the Guthrie in spring 2001. Great guys, every one. And boy can they drink.... Ian, sadly, died the following October. Very suddenly; it was very sad. When I find myself in London, I always try to stop in at the NT (with a little warning of course--I don't have an old keycard), and usually am treated to a quick tour of whatever is on stage at the moment. I love that greenroom. And how about that teeny, tiny elevator to the grid?!? We played the Lyttleton theatre, and I must say the stagehads were outstanding. Load in in NYC = 30 days,l La Jolla, CA, 10 days, and London was 2 days (of course we only had 2) The spot lines in the Olivier were pretty cool, however it was the full stage drum revolve that got my attention. I watched them 'Corkscrew" a castle out of the deck for the M play. A few years later, when in town for a visit, I used my old keycard to gain access to the hallways. I found myself in the greenroom, and ordered a beer. I was soon surrounded by the stagehands I had worked with earlier. It was if I had never left. A few days later, I was finally able to buy a few rounds, only because it was the 4th of July." ------------------------------ Message-ID: <009101c4736f$15791f40$a8db3b45 [at] taco> From: "don taco" References: Subject: Re: Test Date: Mon, 26 Jul 2004 17:16:59 -0700 Why raccoons? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Larson" To: "Stagecraft" Sent: Monday, July 26, 2004 12:41 PM Subject: Re: Test > For info, archives & UNSUBSCRIBE, see > --------------------------------------------------- > > on 7/26/04 11:29 AM, CB at psyd [at] cox.net wrote: > > > For info, archives & UNSUBSCRIBE, see > > --------------------------------------------------- > > > >> Or what NOT to do. > > > > Trim your replies. > > > > > A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons.
