If, judging from your question above, you're wanting a raked ceiling, 2 ways come to mind: Either use the 3D polygon tool or use solid subtraction to create the rake from an extruded polygon or other shape. >How do you establish a center point on a 3-D drawing after you >have started? My response was that everything should be fine, the files would still be there unless you actually emptied the trash. To this she replied "I did empty the trash!" To this she replied "I did >empty the trash!" A reminder about that for physical files, also. I was a senior or chief engineer at two companies that did this sort of thing. A short time after I left each one I was contacted by them to find out where important files were (schematics, FCC documentation, etc.). I said "in the hanging file drawer of my desk". Both said "We emptied your desk into the trash the day you left, so where are the files?" Neither company is in business anymore. When an employee leaves, it might be a good idea to actually look at what you're tossing out. At [major electronics company] their policy was any time there was a layoff or someone gave notice, they were escorted out the door instantly by security. Someone else would pack their desk and send the box to them. During one layoff the IT guy for the production department was escorted out. THEN they discovered he was the only one with the system passwords. I also saw my boss (not the IT department) being escorted out and was getting worried. Turns out I was the new boss (surprise!). ---------- Jerry Durand Durand Interstellar, Inc. For what it's worth, I always assume vacation and travel questions relate to list interests -- what shows to see, who is working in the area who could give a tour, etc. The best solution to the "off topic" problem is to post "on topic" :-) Here is the only real written guideline to posting: Even with 1000+ subscribers, the bandwidth spent on a handful of off topic messages is negligible, and has been a part of this list's character for over a decade. My policy has been to move anyone with a repeating autoreply to "inactive" immediately (so that makes it a "two strikes you're out" policy?), but I don't worry much about the well-behaved vacation messages that only send a single reply to the list. Of course a proper vacation responder will not reply to bulk or list precedence messages at all! For what it's worth, we've had about a dozen autoreplies in the past year, plus one that replied to every message which I set inactive. I'm guessing we're going to have more than a dozen replies to this one alone :-) There goes the bandwidth wasting argument... Somewhere on my "to do" list is rejecting messages with obvious autoresponder subjects like this one, so don't be shocked if you reply to this message in a few days and it gets rejected :-) Noah -- | Noah Price | http://stagecraft.theprices.net/ | | Stagecraft Mailing List | stagecraft-web [at] theprices.net | ------------------------------ From: "Kevin Linzey" Subject: RE: 3-D Vectorworks Questions Date: Sat, 7 May 2005 18:07:09 -0400 Message-ID: <004601c55351$1e0ea5e0$6800a8c0 [at] KLinzeypc> In-Reply-To: > -----Original Message----- > From: Stagecraft [mailto:stagecraft [at] theatrical.net] On Behalf Of Steve > Sent: Saturday, May 07, 2005 8:29 AM > To: Stagecraft > Subject: 3-D Vectorworks Questions >=20 >=20 > For info, archives & UNSUBSCRIBE, see=20 > > --------------------------------------------------- >=20 > In Vectorworks, 3-D mode, how does one create a wall that is=20 > not horizontal at the top? I picked up a demo model of the older version of the MDG Ice Fog Q (formerly the Ice Fog touring). It is a little loud but other than that it is an incredible machine. I would be happy to recommend it to anyone. Cost wise I used to do 50lbs of dry ice a drop and get 3-5 minutes of fog with the 55 gal drum method ($1-$1.50 per/lb). I can now run a week of rehearsals and show on a 180lb dewar of Liquid CO2 ($90) and 1.5 liters of fluid ( [at] $26) for a single 5 min number per show. Once the machine is warmed up it can run continous fog till either the fluid or LCO2 tank runs out after I would guess an hour or more.
