Also, since there is no room above the grid, you might consider a false ceiling in the form of a horizontal flat or something hanging under the grid for the kite to hide above. As to how to make it fly, I would try fishing line - but coming from two points. One from the eventual destination (above the audience, ROH), and the other from directly above the starting point. By manipulating the two lines, you should be able to control the flight path. I get a strange sense of deja vu. I think about a year ago someone else asked about making a kite fly in a black box theatre. If you can access the archives, you might find some other suggestions made at the time. You might also find out who posted the original question, and ask them how they ended up dealing with the situation. The first long-distance call was MUCH shorter, and probably much earlier. -- Jim Hyslop ------------------------------ In-Reply-To: References: Message-Id: From: "C. Best I've seen that wasn't actual glass was plexi mirror Liquid Nailed to 3/4 ply backing. Handled carefully, with the protective film removed only just before opening, the mirrors were indistinguishable from glass. Since the light source is rather diffuse, it would spray light all over the place. The power usage in the story is wrong for the CF light. A 20 watt CF would use 200 KW of power over 10,000 hrs.
