I purchased my kit from www.mcmaster.com several years ago (for my last school) and it wasn't too expensive. From what I remember, the kits comes with the Helicoil inserts, an insert tool and maybe the drill bit. The insert looks just like a stage screw floor insert. It's a metal sleeve with threads on both the inside and the outside. The inside threads are for the yoke bolts. The outer threads grip themselves into the slightly larger hole you'll have to drill into the side of the fixture. The other repair method suggested is drilling & tapping for a larger bolt. Though this does work and is a perfectly good suggestion, this method requires a second set of inventory for you to maintain. When you lose/drop that bolt, you won't be able to simply grab one from another unused unit. hth, Scott Scott C. Kind of cheesy but it was bright enough for the 1200 people to see the effect. I don't know what it does beyond that. My "favorite" venues to play, are ones where lots of money was spent, yet it it totally impractical for a lot of theatre, touring, and actual stage presentations! I recently heard that the new Ford Stadium in Detroit was built and engineered so that it could be a "multi-purpose" facility (big rock shows, etc.). After spending A LOT of money, when the first road-show loaded in, it was discovered that the ramp leading from the loading dock to the field was built 20' too short, so that all road cases and gear must be rolled down truck ramps, across the floor, and up another ramp, and then another couple hundred feet to the actual field! d'oh! This holds true for a LOT of new facilities that are designed for live performance. They are designed to look pretty, but generally are not designed with PRODUCTION in mind. ok, rant off... Greetings folks. The Long Beach Long Riders are at it again. A slightly new name, and a new route, but it's the same old us. We're putting together another charity ride, scheduled for the summer of '05. It won't be to Long Beach (and it probably never will be again) so we've changed our name slightly to reflect our new plans and goals. We are now the Long Reach Long Riders. (subtitled "in the Wings and In the Wind) Catchy, eh? And, once again, we're riding to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The support we received from y'all on the first ride was terrific and the folks at BC/EFA were thrilled with the amount of money we raised and would love to work with us again. So here we are. We're just in the beginning stages of planning so I don't have exact details, but here's the general idea: Sometime in early summer two groups of bikes head out; one group from Washington, DC and the other from San Diego. The groups then meet in the Midwest and go north to the Badlands of South Dakota. We hope to hook up with some theatres up there to have some fun. More on that as it firms up. On the first ride we limited the group to 8 riders 'cause it was our first trip and we hadn't a clue (clew?) what we were doing. I'm not going as far as saying we know what we're doing now, but we're opening the ride to anyone who wants to ride with us. You can join up in either of the departure cities or meet up with us along the way. The more the merrier! But, because this is a benefit ride, there will be an entrance fee. Don't know what the exact amount is just yet, but it will probably be around $1,000/bike or $1,250.00 if there's a passenger. For that money you get meals/gas/lodging at designated locations on the trip out, a T-shirt and any other goodies we can think up. And, of course, the opportunity to ride with a great bunch of folks and have a blast. We've taken a look at how the larger benefit rides (NASCAR, Harley and some others) raise money and this method appears to be the favorite and the most productive. Not a rider but still want to donate? No problem. We will be hitting you up just like we did the last time. Or, if you know someone who wants to ride with us, sponsor them! So, if you're interested in riding with us maybe you should contact one of us (all our e-mail addresses are on the LBLR website at ) and we can work out what details we have at this point. If you want to donate money, hang on to it for a little while longer. We'll have a website and donation info up as soon as possible. Or, if you'd like to help us organize this little soiree, give me a shout. Thanks for listening. And now back to your regularly scheduled e-mail Be well Bill S.
