Anyone can contact anyone for any reason, or for no reason, unless there is a properly served restraining order in place, or unless they are listed on some official 'Do Not Call' list. /s/ Richard Frank, In the United States, employers are only allowed to contact references that are listed by the job candidate. If the job candidate doesn't list a former employer, they can't be contacted. Is this clear? In your case, a fatal error was reported by your server's spam filtering: message text rejected by smtpgate.email.arizona.edu: 550 Error: Message content rejected I often skim through the bounces looking for spam filtering rejects so I can contact the appropriate postmaster and request whitelisting, but the list receives about 1000 error responses a month (mostly "soft" errors that are retried) so I don't always keep up! So, please ask them to whitelist my server :-) Ideally your admin will whitelist 209.237.15.0/24 (my whole network block) in case the server changes IP address in the future. If they need something more specific, send me email. If others are interested in the specific reason they get these warnings, please email me at stagecraft-web [at] theprices.net On Mar 24, 2005, at 9:13 AM, Mark O'Brien wrote: > Q: When I went to the archive for todays messages, I get nothing. > Why? The searchable archive hasn't been updated since the list moved to theatrical.net. That database has been causing me trouble, so I'm working on a better alternative. This occurs when people reply to a message on the list rather than starting a fresh message for a new topic. Even though they change the subject, their email software thinks they are replying to another message and includes an "In-Reply-To:" header with the message-ID of the original message. > I suspect there is a hidden threading cue that isn't deleted when a > reply is used as a template to head a new thread. Exactly. This makes it especially difficult to maintain proper threads in the archives, except by monitoring threads manually. It's similarly difficult when digest subscribers reply with a variation on the subject, since a digest reply doesn't include the original message reference.
